Rhea Kay is an artist and designer from in the Shetland Islands. Fascinated by its heritage, culture and landscape, she uses Shetland as the main source of her inspiration throughout her practice, and see's it as an integral part of who she is.

Passionate about creativity, Rhea studied NC Art and Design at Shetland College UHI before studying BA(Hons) Contemporary Textiles where she graduated with first-class in 2018. As a result of her drive and passion, she was awarded both Shetland College HE Student of the Year and University of the Highlands and Islands HE Student of the Year. Her work has won both local and national awards, has featured in exhibitions and publications, and has gained her placements in fascinating places.

After studying, Rhea moved to England for an opportunity to work as a kitchen designer for a renowned bespoke furniture company. She got the experience to work on a range of exciting projects while gaining invaluable knowledge of the design industry.

Rhea has recently returned to Shetland and has started her own business, Hvalholm. Hvalholm acts as a concept to guide her interests and values as an artist and designer, and is the perfect platform to sell her work. Visit: www.hvalholm.com
